The colour for the year 2022 has been decided by color trend experts at Pantone.
Pantone Color Institute announced shade 17 – 3938 ‘Very Peri’ as capturing the essence of what the next 12 months are going to look like, saying it represents courage and inspires personal inventiveness and creativity.
Why PANTONE 17-3938 Very Peri?
The color choice was informed due to various factors, some of which include the rise of Facebook’s metaverse and digital artists. As per the announcement made on the company’s website, Very Peri illustrates “the fusion of modern life and how color trends in the digital world are being manifested in the physical world and vice versa”.
“Creating a new color for the first time in the history of our Color of the Year educational color program reflects the global innovation and transformation taking place”, said the Color Institute VP Laurie Pressman.
The specific hue of “a periwinkle shade of blue” is said to display a joyous attitude and dynamic presence that encourages courageous creativity and imaginative expression.
